The Sedulzo Chapel

per person

The chapel, built in 1958 to a design by surveyor Ugo Apollonio (the then municipal technician), stands in the locality of Sedulzo, from which it takes its name. Precisely, it is located on the left side (for those going uphill), two-thirds of the way up the Borno-Lake Lova path. The wayside shrine was erected 14 years after the serious act of war that took place there during the Second World War, as a vow by a group of deportees from Borno who ended up in the Italian concentration camp of Villafranca.

These are the characteristics: pitched roof, plastered stone perimeter walls, concrete plinth, mosaic floor, the altar in polished stone. The interior walls of the Sedulzo chapel are decorated with two frescoes by Borno painter Enrico Peci, depicting the wartime episode. Framed among the ex voto (small paintings for graces received), above the altar, is a miniature statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
