DISCOVER THE BEST OF JUNE ON ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE

June has begun!
With the arrival of the first warm weather and the end of school approaching, the desire for holidays and trips to the mountains also returns.
On the Altopiano del Sole there are numerous opportunities for those who want to spend a few days in the cool of the weather: trekking, biking and small family-friendly villages will welcome you at their best and allow you to enjoy a few days in the mountains among relaxation, activities in contact with nature and many attractions suitable for every type of visitor.
In this new article you will find a list of events and proposals scheduled in June on the Altopiano del Sole.

WELLNESS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

We open our events column with a summer event for sports enthusiasts.

Starting on Thursday 5 June and for every Thursday of the summer, from 7.45 to 8.45 pm, you can take part in MaiaPumì Summer Edition in Piancogno. Group training and running with 4 levels: walking, walking and running, light running and fast running, starting from the Sterlin Bar.

Tuesday 24 June from 8:00 to 9:00 is the first appointment of Risveglio al Parco, a muscular awakening and Pilates session with Grazia Marini at the Fonte Stella Park in Piancogno.

Also in Piancogno, starting on Thursday, 26 June, Yoga in Villa will begin, with introductory yoga lessons in the greenery of Penzig Park, in Via Montello 2.

On 23 June, Botanical and Ceramic Monday will begin in Laveno (Lozio), organised by Atelier Alida Ceramiche. An immersive experience between nature and creativity at 1000 metres above sea level, with 4 appointments from June to September. The workshop includes a simple walk suitable for everyone, guided by an expert environmental guide, to discover spontaneous mountain herbs, amidst fragrances, stories and conscious harvesting. This will be followed by a ceramics workshop in which you will imprint the collected herbs on clay, giving life to a unique and personal artefact.

ENOGASTRONOMIC EVENTS, CULTURE, TRADITIONS

On Sunday 15 June,Cascinando returns to Malegno: the food and wine walk through the farmsteads, with 10 stops and 10 tastings. The start is scheduled for 10.30 a.m. from Piazza Zaccaria Casari.
Registration by 11 June at ‘Giocattoli Lo Bracco’ or by bank transfer with receipt sent by email to eventimalegno@gmail.com.

From 20 to 22 June at the Casa Arcobaleno di Lozio is the Triartis seminar ‘Quando il cuore pensa’ (When the heart thinks), organised by Fabio Alessandri. A three-day seminar to explore and experiment new ways of thinking and feeling, favouring the balance between reason and emotion.

For reading enthusiasts, we would like to point out the presentation of the book O.S.M.A.N.D organised by the Ars Camunnorum association at Parco Due Torri in Piancogno on Friday 6 June, and the presentation of La levatrice di Nagyrév’ scheduled for Saturday 21 June at 6.15 p.m. in the library in Malegno.

Sunday 22 June in Sommaprada (Lozio) is the Feast of St John the Baptist, while Sunday 29 will be the turn of “San Piro” (St Peter), patron saint of the hamlet of Villa. The statue of San Pietro will be carried in procession through the streets of the village by the entire community, which will then gather for a community lunch based on the traditional – and unique – “casoncelli di Lozio”. This will be followed by music and entertainment for all.

MUSIC and FESTIVITIES

In this section you will find a space dedicated to musical events and festivals scheduled for the month of June:
From 6 to 8 June, the Borno skating rink will host the Oratory Festival: food stands, music, shows, and mass to mark the end of the catechetical year.

On Saturday, 7 June, Piazza Casari will host the Festa Popolare di Malegno, an evening with barbecue, entertainment and live music with a concert by Baca Lùna.

The Borno band celebrates its 55th anniversary on Saturday, 21 June, with a concert by the Vallecamonica wind orchestra in Piazza Giovanni Paolo II.

Piazza San Damiano in Ossimo Inferiore will host two events on Saturday 21 and 28 June: on the 21st there will be an awards ceremony with medals for Avisini dell’Altopiano del Sole, a party with food and live music, during which Avisini who have particularly distinguished themselves over the years will be awarded medals of merit.
On 28 June, get ready to experience an evening of fun at the Summer Fest, with a food stand and live music by Second Channel.

On the evening of Saturday 28 June, you can get your fill of JAZZ music at the BORNO ON JAZZ event: the stage in Piazza Giovanni Paolo II will host the prestigious International Jazz Quartet with Matthew Renzi on tenor sax, Simone Guiducci on guitar, Marc Abrams on double bass and Riccardo Biancoli on drums.The audience will enjoy a premium experience, with reserved seats, tables, and a detailed welcome, including wine and local cheese tasting.

On Sunday 29 June, however, space will be given to American and British blues music from the 1970s, with a concert by the Ceky Blues Band at Barissimo.

Also on Sunday 29 June, weather permitting, a concert by the Banda di Ospitaletto is scheduled in Piazza di Borno,

FAMILIES AND CHILDREN

The Altopiano del Sole is a family-friendly area and the summer calendar certainly cannot be lacking in events dedicated to children.

On the Pro Loco di Borno website you can find a list of the grests and summer camps scheduled from June.

Children and families can also find many activities to enjoy in contact with nature at Borno Ski Area, which has already opened for the summer. On Sunday, 15 June, a Kids Open Day is scheduled, where it will be possible to use the Energy Tube (ascent on the treadmill and descent on colourful inflatables) free of charge. Followed by a snack offered by Barissimo.

On Saturday 14 June, at the middle school in Piancogno, there will be Racconti di inizio estate (Tales of the beginning of summer), a reading meeting for children aged 0-8 years, and again on Sunday 22 June, in Val Sorda, Raccontami una storia (Tell me a story), an afternoon of reading for children aged 0-6 years in a refuge surrounded by nature.
