MAY ON THE ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE
May has started and on the Altopiano del Sole the spring is bursting forth in all its splendour.
The last snows are leaving even the highest peaks, making way for the bright green of the meadows that invite for walks and picnics in the open air. May is the ideal month to experience the mountains slowly, taking advantage of the first weekends with mild temperatures and long days to regenerate in contact with nature.
At this time of year, there is no lack of events and activities to discover the area and its traditions.

1 TO 4 MAY – FLOWER FAIR
The flagship event of the Altopiano del Sole and Valle Camonica, the Piancogno Flower Fair inaugurates the month of May with 4 days of festivities to celebrate the beautiful season. Along Via Nazionale, in the hamlet of Piamborno, you can find numerous exhibitors from the sector, with many proposals in the fields of floriculture, garden furniture, agriculture, organic, technology, and much more.
The event welcomes numerous flower and plant enthusiasts every year, as well as many people who want to experience a festive atmosphere and participate in the numerous related activities for families, children and visitors of all ages. In the centre of Piancogno, specially dedicated to children, a children’s play area is set up with inflatable merry-go-rounds, fire station and a mini farm for various activities with animals.
The theme of the 32nd edition is ‘Ciak si fiera!’, to take visitors on a journey into the world of cinema with music, costumes, shows and engaging activities. A booklet with the complete programme of the days is available at www.fieradeifioripiancogno.it.
3-4 MAY – GATHER AND COOK HERBS IN LOZIO
On the first weekend in May at the Casa Arcobaleno in Laveno (Lozio) an interesting initiative is planned for those who love to gather, prepare and cook wild herbs. On Saturday afternoon, from 2.30 p.m., botanist Livio Pagliari will accompany participants through the harvesting process. The experience will continue on Sunday morning with Ada, who will guide you through the processing of the harvest and the production of casoncelli. Lunch will follow in company.
9-11 MAY – TROFEO VALLE CAMONICA – MALEGNO-OSSIMO-BORNO
The Malegno-Ossimo-Borno hill climb returns from 9 to 11 May.
Pure adrenaline, roaring engines, and an atmosphere that only the Trofeo Vallecamonica can provide. Just under four minutes to cover almost 9 kilometres, through breathtaking curves, spectacular straights, tight hairpins, and a public that never stops cheering.
Over time, this race has earned a special place among the most popular hill-climbs, welcoming established champions and motor racing legends.
On the occasion of the event, there will be no lack of side events such as the AFROBINFER evening scheduled for Saturday 10 May in Ossimo Inferiore.
9-11 MAY – ANGOLO VERTICAL
17 MAY – MOUNTAIN THERAPY AND ‘OVER ALL LIMITS’ EVENT IN VALSORDA
On Saturday 17 May, Val Sorda will host a day full of activities and events.
It starts in the morning with the ‘Montagna Terapia’ (Mountain Therapy) initiative with a walk, games, lunch, and an afternoon full of activities for everyone.
In the evening, on the other hand, do not miss the ‘Over All Limits’ meeting with the Tuscan mountaineer and Paralympic athlete Andre Lanfri, who will tell his story at the Val Sorda refuge starting at 20:30.
24-25 MAY – MONTAGNATTIVA
Following last year’s success, the second edition of MONTAGNATTIVA will be staged in Borno on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May. A day to discover the area’s recreational activities and events, through promotional stands, workshops dedicated to children, and the chance to try your hand at many activities such as climbing and skiing on an artificial slope directly in the Piazza in Borno.

28 MAY – RECORD OF THE NOBLES
The ‘Record of the Nobles’ is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday 28 May in Lozio.
The event promoted by the Pro Loco Valle di Lozio takes the form of an opportunity to discover the area and recall its historical origins, through an elimination race to the castle.
31 MAY/1 JUNE – LIBERA.MENTE
Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June in Laveno (Lozio) sees the arrival of Libera.Mente: an immersive experience dedicated to discovering the world of ceramics, with two extra activities of gathering and recognising spontaneous herbs and yoga. This initiative is designed for those who wish to slow down and reconnect with themselves and awaken their creativity. Places are limited to 6 participants.
31 MAY – NOTES IN THE LIGHT OF LOVA
On Saturday 31 May, on the shores of Lake Lova, an interweaving of musical notes and whispered words will create a unique emotion in the heart of the woods.
The protagonists of the evening will be the Trombone Quartet of the Fondazione Arena di Verona and the voice of Giusi Legrenzi, journalist and RTL 102.5 speaker, who will accompany the spectators during an evening of music in an extremely evocative natural setting.

The OPENING PARTY of the Borno Ski Area is also scheduled for 31 May: the party that inaugurates the ski area’s summer season. As spring advances, this area is transformed into a veritable little paradise for hikers and two-wheel enthusiasts, thanks to a range of routes and activities designed for the enjoyment of young, old and young at heart.
