Sant’Andrea Parish Church

The Parish Church of Malegno, dedicated to Saint Andrew the Apostle, was designed by Antonio Spiazzi.
The church has a longitudinal plan, with a rectangular nave and a square presbytery that extends into a barely noticeable apse, the back wall of which inflexes, delineating a curved space. The interior as a whole is harmonious and not without monumental solemnity. The rib vaults depict the Apostles, while in the roofs the anonymous painter has depicted episodes dedicated to St. Andrew. The high altarpiece is the fresco with the crucifixion of St Andrew, signed by the Esine painter Antonio Guadagnini and dated 1883.
The four side altars, true monuments of marble art, frame beautiful 18th-century altarpieces attributed to Carlo Carloni and Sante Cattaneo.
