A month of rebirth and blossom, which as spring advances colours the landscapes of the Altopiano del Sole with vibrant palettes, bright greens, peach pinks and brilliant hues. The result? The sight of true corners of paradise.

For fans of hiking and mountain tours, April marks the beginning of a particularly favourable period. With the days getting longer and longer, it is possible to venture out along the many trails even in the evening hours, taking advantage of the beautiful spring days to enjoy the spectacle of sunsets in the open air.

April is the month when even bikers can leave winter behind and enjoy the fresh, fragrant air of the blossoming forests. But what events are not to be missed in April on the Altopiano del Sole? We discuss them in this new article.

FLOWER FAIR – PIANCOGNO – 25 TO 28 APRIL

From 25 to 28 April, the traditional appointment with the Piancogno Flower Fair returns.

Via Nazionale will blossom again during 4 days under the banner of light-heartedness and sociability, with a wide range of proposals to celebrate the arrival of spring, ranging from floriculture to garden furniture, from organic farming to technology and much more.

Each day also includes events for people of all ages, with more than 150 points of interest including exhibitors, enthusiasts, associations, traders and a full programme of events that make the 31st edition of the Flower Fair an event not to be missed.

APRIL ON TWO WHEELS

Feel the wind in your hair as you pedal to discover the wonders of the Altopiano del Sole.

Whether you are an expert biker or a novice, the Altopiano del Sole area offers numerous opportunities to venture out on your bike, mountain bike or e-bike, among dirt paths, single tracks and mountain stretches where you can spend days of pure fun.

For all cycling enthusiasts, we recommend two unmissable events in April starting from Piancogno: the Gravel Camonica and the Smily Bike.

GRAVEL CAMONICA – PIANCOGNO – 25 APRIL

After last year’s success, the Gravel Camonica returns on 25 April, starting from Piancogno, the first non-competitive Gravel Ride in Valle Camonica.

The new edition includes 3 different routes, to meet the different needs of bikers:

ACCOMODANTE ROUTE (medium): about 50/60 km and 500 m of altitude difference
CROCCANTE ROUTE (long): about 90 km that includes the entire medium route and then stretches northwards to the heart of the rock engravings in the Capo di Ponte area
IGNORANTE ROUTE (long): a long route with significant climbs and hard sections, which takes the athletes to the Cerveno mountains and then into the Altopiano del Sole area

All 3 routes have Borgo Glazel in Piancogno as their starting point, and develop along fascinating routes to discover the beauty of the Camonica Valley.

But it doesn’t end here: also for 2024 there will be refreshment stops, during which it will be possible to taste some typical local products and savour authentic local flavours.

SMILY BIKE – PIANCOGNO – 28 APRIL

On Sunday 28 April, the SMILY BIKE is scheduled, a day of celebration and cycling fun, dedicated to families and children.

Starting from Borgo Glazel in Piancogno, there will be two easy bike rides for the whole family, with a snack stop. Registration is free of charge and on returning from the bike ride you can enjoy the final show of clown Demenzio, with the “PSYCHO CHICKEN” show.
