2023 has just begun and the Altopiano del Sole is preparing to host a rich programme of events to keep you entertained all year round.
If December reserved us a finale “with a bang” with the traditional New Year’s Eve party, January instead opens with a Vintage Epiphany weekend, for a plunge into the past among handicrafts, design items and collectibles of great creativity.
On 7th and 8th January the square in Borno will host the Vintage Markets and become the venue for an exhibition market for collectors in search of unique pieces.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
WINTER ACTIVITIES that can be done during this period: skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, mountain trekking, but also ski mountaineering and snowshoeing.
From 12th January, the ski evenings at the Borno Ski Area begin again.
Skiing up the slopes is currently only possible by reaching the summit of Monte Altissimo by 9 a.m. – as during the day it is FORBIDDEN – while from Thursday 12th it will also be possible on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Another popular winter activity is snowshoeing.
When the snow whitens the paths of the Altopiano del Sole, it is possible to venture out with snowshoes on your feet into the fresh snow, and discover glimpses of natural beauty that would otherwise remain hidden.
If you wish to rent snowshoes, you can go to the “Odelli Sport” and “Shopping Sport” points, both at the foot of the Borno Ski Area.
If, on the other hand, you prefer relaxation and holidays in the style of a food and wine tour, this is the perfect time of year to sample the authentic and generous flavours of the local cuisine, with dishes that lend themselves well to stocking up against the winter cold.
